Electrification is leading the emergence of a multitude of different technologies. The latter have different objectives and needs, which are also tested in different ways. This is where the current problem around battery and the complete electric drive chain testing lies. For battery testing the tests will not have the same characteristics depending on cell size, number and current, from 5 A to 1000 A. The modules do not all have the same number of cells or the same voltages, evolving between 10 and 100 V. Safety management comes into play: in pack testing, how to manage a thermal runaway? Tests of electric motors at speeds above 20,000 rpm are required, as well as tests of the entire transmission chain. Complex hybrid powertrains require flexible validation processes, with parallel tasks and the possibility to adjust the project at any time. This implies the use of simulation in advanced phases, in particular for the optimization of EMS. Answering to these technological evolutions, requires flexibility, agility, and ability to propose solutions adapted to any needs and targets.
