With the move towards electric and autonomous vehicles, combined with the development of simulation and data management technologies, a revolution is taking place in test centers and test benches. FEV, with the daily use of its own test centers on all continents, is at the forefront of technology in this field. For example, it has recently launched eDLP, the world's largest high-voltage battery test center in Brehna, Germany. Experts in Testing field
Joachim Strauch, Solution Manager at FEV STS for e-drive testbeds (e-axle and e-motor), in automotive since 1995 with first MORPHEE testbed in Germany. Since 2003 technical Manager in D2T Germany responsible for all testbed projects on German speaking market, from chain saw over passenger cars, heavy duty to Railway testbeds, from Motorbike over Formula 1 to Airplane testbeds. He was responsible for first e-drive testbed realization in 2009. More than 10 years of experience in engineering and realization of e-drive testbeds.
Matthias Krause is manager of the “Data and information management” product group including products FLEX and UniPlot. He’s graduated from Technical University of Dresden and Electrical University of St. Petersburg (Russia) with a degree in Mechatronics. He started his career in FEV in 2008 on the topic of test bench calibration methods. The improvement of software quality via adequate processes is in the major interest of Mr. Krause.
Gracjan Socha is Solution Manager at FEV Polska, responsible for ADAS/AD projects. He has a mathematical education background and Business Management at Thames Valley University. He is in automotive industry since 1994, beginning at Daewoo Motor Poland. He has joined FEV one year ago, directly from ZF, where he used to worked as Validation Project Lead, responsible for ADAS/AD testing and validation projects worldwide.
Walid Baroud is the manager of the e-mobility Product Group at FEV. He is in charge of developing solutions for automotive testing and development. He’s graduated from IFP-School (ENSPM) with a degree in Powertrain Engineering and from the Lebanese American University (LAU) with a degree in Mechanical Engineering with High Distinction. He started his career in 2014 as a researcher in automotive simulation, developing hybrid control strategies.
Walid El Saoudi is Solution Manager at FEV STS. He oversees the development of solutions for virtual testing & calibration in the automotive domain. He started his career at FEV in 2016 as project engineer, then as technical lead where he handled various system simulation projects for worldwide customers. He graduated from Ecole Centrale Nantes with an engineering degree in General Engineering and a master’s degree in Powertrain engineering.
Pierre Bast is product manager for FEVs conditioning and flow measurement devices as well as solutions manager for fuel cell test systems. He graduated at Aachen University in 2001 with a degree in Electrical Engineering. After the diploma he got a PHD in medical robotics at the Helmholtz Institute for Biomedical Engineering in Aachen. He joined FEV in 2006 as a software developer and had his focus on emission measurement systems as well as on CMMI processes. In 2014 Pierre Bast became product manager for emission measurement systems and today for conditioning units and flow measurement devices. Since 2019 he is solution manager for FEV's Fuel Cell test systems too.
Paul Thiele is a research associate at the Institute of Combustion Engines (VKA) at the RWTH Aachen University in the field of PEM fuel cells. He graduated at the same university with degrees in Energy Engineering and Mechanical Engineering & Business Administration in 2019. During his studies he made practical experience in research on electrolysis while working in the US for Nel Hydrogen Inc. and in project management in internships for Rolls Royce plc. in Berlin and Safran in Paris (France). Furthermore, he gathered international experience in a semester abroad at the École Centrale de Lille (France). Since his start at VKA in 2019, he works on the realization of fuel cell test beds and the degradation of fuel cells.
