Measurement devices

The FEV AEROMETER has become a trusted device in performance testing of oil aeration. The system is compatible with any engine type and is able to determine the total gas content of the oil (both, free and dissolved). The AEROMETER is recognized and defined as standard by many renowned OEM’s worldwide. FEV has developed the AERO2METER by maintaining the high accuracy volumetric measurement principle of the AEROMETER and redesigning it into a fully automatic and compact measuring device. Consequently, the AERO2METER is aimed to be integrated into an automated test bench environment. With the development of the 3rd generation of gas content measurement devices, the AERO3METER, FEV provides the possibility of a continuous measurement with an analog bandwidth of 1 Hz.

  • Fully automatic withdrawal and analysis of oil sample from engine lube system under operation condition
  • Continuous measurement with up to 1 Hz signal bandwidth
  • Introduction of continuous high shear loads and low pressures of 400 mbar during the measurement process to enable the reliable extraction of dissolved air shares from the oil
  • Accuracy independent of back pressure in the return line
  • Enhancement of the well-established and robust volumetric determination of gas content related to ambient conditions comparable to the principal of original Aerometer/Aero2meter
